Turkish coffee is the oldest way of creating coffee. This is a short article answering often asked questions about Turkish coffee.

What type of coffee need to I use for Turkish coffee?

Turkish coffee today could be produced of Latin American blends. Typically the blends contain two kinds of coffee: Arabica and Robusta. Except to your Latin American coffees the blends may well also include coffees from Asia or Africa. Some of the finest coffees for Turkish blends occur from Brazil, Ethiopia and Yemen.

Is it healthy?

Turkish coffee is as healthy as any regular coffee. Actually according to some some researches a quantity of two modest Turkish coffee cups (demitasse cups) is also very good to your heart. In case you exceed this number then it may possibly turn into unfavorable to your well being like any other coffee. Bear in mind that Turkish coffee is made almost as simply as instant coffee but it is far better to your health.

What is this thick factor on top of Turkish coffee? Is it like espresso?

When you make Turkish coffee properly you'll notice on top a layer of dark, thick and homogeneous foam. This can be also referred to as kaimaki in Greece. If the coffee does not have kaimaki then a thing is actually wrong in the coffee making:

* little amount of coffee used
* not properly heated
* ground coarser than required
* really stale coffee

In some Eastern nations it's an insult to serve Turkish coffee without having this special foam on top.

Kaimaki foam is seems similar on the espresso crema but it quite various in terms of physical properties. The espresso crema is formed not only as a result of heat but also because of high pressure so it is extremely different.

What about a coffee pot for one cup?

In this case you will need a coffee pot that holds 2*60ml=120ml coffee.

These numbers are not exact. They are just guides to help you. Most in the times buying a bit small coffee pot will also be adequate.

Can I grind Turkish coffee with my coffee grinder?

Turkish coffee is ground at the most fine grind setting. Most grinders for residence use are incapable of grinding so fine. If you have a blade grinder contemplate upgrading to a burr grinder. This does not mean that each burr grinder can grind Turkish coffee. So if you are in the marketplace in search of the burr grinder ensure it has a Turkish coffee setting. Some burr grinders do not have a Turkish coffee setting but they can be modified very easily to grind fine enough for this coffee. This info can also be easily found in case you make a couple of searches in a research engine.

Another solution are manual-operated Turkish coffee grinders. These grinders are a lot cheaper than burr grinders and as a result of their low speed coffee is ground gently without having owning heated. In cheap burr grinders because of the tiny burr dimensions the rotating speed is higher. This way the friction is larger and the heat generation is higher. More heat methods a lot more coffee taste destruction! So in other words modest grinding speeds of manual grinders are much better for your palate! The big drawback is that this sort of grinding can remind you of manual labor sometimes...

For dessert after the coffee you can provide conventional Turkish delight or baklava. Your guests is going to be grateful! Find the best turkish coffee pot or a beautiful turkish coffee grinder at the best prices.

Commercial Coffee Brewers with Warmers

Commercial coffee makers for your office do not have to cost a lot of money. The pourover coffee brewers are very similar to the best quality home brewer, but the big difference is how long it will last with office use. The Grindmaster commercial model BL-2P has an extra warmer to keep coffee warm and ready to serve. A second pot for decaf can be made and left on the burner under the brewer to remain warm or the decaf can be on top and the regular under the brewer. Colored handles will tell which coffee is in each pot so the drinker will get the drink they want. If the coffee drinkers want tea water or a specific type or specific flavor of coffee, the colored handles relay that message as well.

Each warmer of the brewer, whether you have a 2 or a 3 warmer unit, has an individual lighted warmer switch to indicate when it is "on." Having three warmers is great for a larger office where coffee is consumed at a faster rate. Three warmers also offer a larger variety of possible types or flavors of hot drinks. Tea, coffee and decaf coffee could be one choice or regular coffee, decaf coffee and a flavored coffee could be another choice that would keep all three of them warm.

Commercial pourover brewers have an attractive appearance that is styled to complement any décor as well as having a space-saving design. The Grindmaster 2 warmer brewer is 17-3/4" high by 8-1/2" wide by 16-1/2" deep. On this brewer the decanter sits in back on the top of the brewer while the half-gallon reservoir opening is in front for easy filling. Talking about filling the reservoir, be sure to fill the reservoir with three (3) decanters full of water before plugging it for the first time. If it seems to leak the first time; it is okay and will not do it again.

Commercial pourover brewers are constructed of stainless steel. This makes cleaning the outside surface quick and easy. A damp cloth will clean all the surfaces and heating plates of the brewer. The plastic filter basket can be washed in the top shelf of a dishwasher; however, rinsing it well in a sink should be sufficient. If it needs further cleaning, use soapy water to clean it and then rinse it well with cold water.

There are other office brewers like the Bunn with preheated water, but they do come with additional warmers. And there are digital programmable brewers like this one, but they do cost around twice as much. For the money, the Grindmaster single brewer with two or three warmer plates does offer a better commercial product for a mid-sized office that wants more than one kind of coffee or more than just coffee.

Varieties of Coffee Bean

The Coffee beans are generally known as seeds of the coffee plant which are found inside the coffee berry or coffee cherries. The Coffee beans are then processed in many forms which results in a brewing format. These coffee beans can be easily brewed into a coffee powder.

The vast majority of coffee beans in the world come from the two species of the coffee. They are, Coffea Arabicaand Coffea Robusta. Coffeea Arabica accounts for three-quarters of coffee sold, while the bulk of the remainder is the Coffea Robusta (Coffea Robusta is also known as Coffer Canephora. The Arabica Coffee beans are widely considered to have the best flavor profiles, where the Robusta type is predominantly grown for its hardiness and ability to thrive in harsh conditions but is of lower quality then the Arabica type. There are many different Arabica varietals which produce coffee beans with many distinct flavors and characteristics.

Coffea arabica:

The Arabica Coffee beans from the Jamaican Blue Mountain are widely considered to have the best flavor profiles with all the coffee components complementing each other. The Arabica plant strives mostly in cooler climates where water is plentiful, rich deep soil and temperature that don't exceed 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to these unique growing requirements the Arabica plant is grown on very tropical islands at high altitudes. As a result of the quality taste and supply the price of the Arabica beans are significantly higher than that of the Robusta beans (The best type which is from the Jamaican Blue Mountain goes for on average $38 - $44 per pound). Coffee drinkers generally prefer the Arabica beans and 70% of the world consumption of coffee is that of the Arabica bean.

In Ethiopia (Coffee was discovered in Ethiopia) there are multiple highly-prized varieties of the Arabica type and have many specific growing regions within the country as a whole. The South and Central America are the major producers of coffee beans and a number of Arabica varietals come from these countries and region. Even more varietals of Arabica are found in Africa. The most well-known Arabica beans are Jamaican Blue Mountain, Ethiopian Harar, Ethiopian Sidamo, and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe.

Coffea Robusta:

The second type of the coffee which accounts for 30% of the worlds coffee consumption is the Coffea Robusta type. It can be grown at temperature of up to 87 degrees Fahrenheit and practically any soil type. This type produces beans that are of lower quality than the Arabica type and is known for its bitterness. Coffee drinkers do not to like this coffee because of the bitterness that is associated with it. As a result the cost for this coffee is generally lower than the Arabica type. This provides an option for coffee drinkers that are budget sensitive.

Other species of coffee beans:

The Coffea benghalensis called as the Bengal coffeem,Coffea congensis, Coffea liberica, Coffea stenophylla, Coffea excelsia, Coffea bonnieri, Coffea gallienii Coffea mogeneti and the Hawaiian Kona. Most of these species are rare or non-existent in the export market with the exception of the two Liberian coffees, which are sold in limited amounts in the luxury market. Thus the Coffee beans from the two different places usually have some distinctive characteristics such as flavor, caffeine content, and acidity. These are normally dependent on the local environment where the coffee plants are grown, their method of process, and the genetic subspecies or varietal.
